Aramark is recruiting a Chef Manager for a government building in Ottawa. This is a Monday – Friday day shift, providing for an excellent work-life balance!


The Chef Manager oversees the day-to-day operations for the culinary and retail outlets. This involves planning, organizing, directing, ordering, inventory, daily specials, execution and evaluating the operation and managing staff.

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage aspects of the culinary operation and provide hands on culinary support
• Ensure quality, courteous service is provided to all customers
• Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
• Responsible for inventory controls, food, labor, direct costs, and monitoring revenues
• Assist in staff training and onboarding
• Oversee the requisition and purchase all food products
• Menu development and planning
• Preparation of budgets and maintaining food costs and other records
• Monitor compliance and ensure proper documentation of Food Safety, Food Production, and Health & Safety standards in accordance with company, provincial, and federal regulations
• Maintain tracking system (PRIMA) for all Food Safety and Food Production documentation in accordance with company, provincial, and federal regulations
• Oversees progressive disciplinary, employee relations, hiring, performance review
• Supervise and coordinate catering functions and special events for internal and external clients/groups
• Ensures adherence to each of Aramark's policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Diploma in Culinary, Food and Beverage Management or equivalent work experience
• Must be a Canadian Citizen and resided in Canada for a minimum of 10 years
• Minimum 4 year’s experience in Culinary Supervisory position
• Fluent in various international cuisine cooking
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Effective communication skills, bilingualism considered an asset
• Ability to analyze and interpret financials
• Strong organization skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Must pass a criminal Background Check and a Federal Government Security Clearance
