Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking a Chef Manager to lead on-site catering, contribute to menu planning and development, and ensure strong client relationships and satisfaction.

You will directly manage kitchen and service teams, enforce HACCP, QA, H&S and WHMIS, oversee inventory and cost controls, and work both independently and as part of a large team. French communication is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of culinary experience and strong supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of financial management to control food and labour costs.
• Excellent communication in French.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to work independently and in a large team.

Responsibilities

Job description

The salary for this position is $58,000-$60,000. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may be entitled to other elements of total compensation, which may include group benefits, employer RRSP contributions, and discretionary bonus or incentive programs, where applicable to the role. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation. • Participate in all phases of food preparation, menu planning, and development.

• Ensure positive client relationships and satisfaction.

• Be responsible for directly managing associates.

• Manage and execute all caterings on site.

• Ensure the unit has strict compliance with the Compass Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.

• Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation process.

• Responsible for all BOH/FOH operations

• Cooking when needed, assist Chefs and Cooks as needed

• Inventory, ordering
