Responsibilities :

  1. Demonstrate a complete understanding of the required menus.
  2. Prepare meats, fishes, pastas, side dishes, and garnishes following recipes carefully.
  3. Roast, fry, steam, grill, bake meats, fishes, vegetables as required by recipes.
  4. Prepare food by cleaning, peeling, mincing, cutting, chopping, mixing, portioning, measuring ingredients, packaging, and labeling.
  5. Maintain proper food production records and ensure all equipment is operational.
  6. Responsible for sanitation and post-service set-up.
  7. Notify the manager of any maintenance repairs needed or unsafe conditions.
  8. Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability.
  9. Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods during preparation and service to meet established temperature goals.
  10. Study recipes assigned by the Executive Chef, and prepare and coordinate all meals.
  11. Coordinate preparation for the following day’s menus.
  12. Manage the prep list to plan duties.
  13. Ensure standards of recipes to maintain consistent quality.
  14. Assist in the coordination and execution of special menus for client presentations.
  15. Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean at all times.
  16. Wear food safety equipment while on duty and use work safety equipment.
  17. Maintain good portion control and forecast production needs.
  18. Practice proper grooming, personal hygiene, and safety procedures.
  19. Communicate effectively with kitchen personnel and other departments.
  20. Comply with all company service standards, health & safety procedures, and food safety requirements.
  21. Perform other duties as assigned.

Profile

We Are Looking For :

An experienced Chef / Cook with expertise in Halal, Middle Eastern, Indian cuisines.

  • Experience in a similar position in a known restaurant or catering business.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
  • Good knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training will be provided if needed).
  • Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
