Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate a complete understanding of the required menus.
- Prepare meats, fishes, pastas, side dishes, and garnishes following recipes carefully.
- Roast, fry, steam, grill, bake meats, fishes, vegetables as required by recipes.
- Prepare food by cleaning, peeling, mincing, cutting, chopping, mixing, portioning, measuring ingredients, packaging, and labeling.
- Maintain proper food production records and ensure all equipment is operational.
- Responsible for sanitation and post-service set-up.
- Notify the manager of any maintenance repairs needed or unsafe conditions.
- Taste and smell prepared food to determine quality and palatability.
- Monitor temperature of hot and cold foods during preparation and service to meet established temperature goals.
- Study recipes assigned by the Executive Chef, and prepare and coordinate all meals.
- Coordinate preparation for the following day’s menus.
- Manage the prep list to plan duties.
- Ensure standards of recipes to maintain consistent quality.
- Assist in the coordination and execution of special menus for client presentations.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is in working order and kept clean at all times.
- Wear food safety equipment while on duty and use work safety equipment.
- Maintain good portion control and forecast production needs.
- Practice proper grooming, personal hygiene, and safety procedures.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen personnel and other departments.
- Comply with all company service standards, health & safety procedures, and food safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Profile
We Are Looking For :
An experienced Chef / Cook with expertise in Halal, Middle Eastern, Indian cuisines.
- Experience in a similar position in a known restaurant or catering business.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English.
- Good knowledge of HACCP is an asset (training will be provided if needed).
- Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment.
