Job description

Position: Senior Project Manager

You will work on both small and large-scale multiyear projects (ranging from $100k to over $100M), including the design and construction of maintenance centers. Your involvement spans all project phases, from conception to implementation and commissioning. You will be responsible for project execution within a matrix organizational structure, adhering to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Construction Process:
    • Conduct and coordinate design reviews, compliance reviews, site reviews, and quality audits.
    • Monitor testing and quality records, manage deficiency resolutions, and facilitate project handovers.
    • Conduct detailed quality audits and work with contractors on corrective actions.
  2. Safety:
    • Ensure worksite activities comply with contractual and VIA Rail safety and environmental standards.
    • Investigate property damage, accidents, or delays, and manage resolution steps.
  3. Project Management:
    • Monitor scope, budgets, deadlines, risks, and dependencies.
    • Schedule and report progress, ensuring corrective actions are taken.
    • Track key performance indicators and participate in follow-up meetings.
    • Plan, organize, and evaluate capital project delivery to meet standards and objectives.
    • Coordinate with stakeholders.

Note: Time allocation may vary based on project needs and conditions.

Requirements
  • Degree in Building Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in rail transit or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to travel across Canada, mainly Montreal, and work interprovincially.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Strong communication skills in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Experience in construction environments and quality assurance processes.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and contractual requirements.
  • Ability to maintain stakeholder relationships and lead teams.
  • Sufficient technical knowledge to review plans, reports, and contracts.
