Job summary

Nouveau Monde Graphite recherche un chef de projet pour sa future usine de matériaux de batterie à Bécancour. Ce rôle implique de diriger la construction et de s'assurer que le projet respecte les délais et le budget.

Le candidat idéal a un baccalauréat en ingénierie ou en gestion de la construction et possède une expérience significative en gestion de projets industriels. La maîtrise du français et de l'anglais est essentielle.

Le poste nécessite une présence régulière à Bécancour et des déplacements fréquents vers cette région.

Qualifications

• Expérience importante en gestion de projet ou gestion de la construction, de préférence dans des projets industriels.
• Certifications PMP ou autres jugées pertinentes.

We are looking for a Project Manager for our future battery materials plant in Bécancour. This role focuses on advanced and sustainable technologies and plays a crucial role in the supply chain for next‑generation battery materials.

FRANÇAIS: Nous cherchons un/e chef/fe de projet pour notre future usine de matériaux de batterie à Bécancour. Ce poste implique d’organiser et diriger la construction et les activités associées d’un secteur spécifique de l’usine, et d’en être le principal contact sur le chantier.

Responsibilities / Responsabilités

• Act as the go-between for the engineering, construction and operation teams.
• Contribute to the plant design by ensuring it meets future construction and operations needs.
• Work with project stakeholders to develop detailed construction plans, including schedules, budgets and resource/equipment needs.
• Supervise construction activities according to the project schedule and specifications.
• Track progress, identify delays or issues, and implement corrective measures to keep the project on track.
• Administer or assist with administration of sector contracts and participate in contract/subcontract negotiations with the Procurement group.
• Support implementation of and compliance with health, safety and environmental protocols and promote a safe workplace.
• Control sector expenses for labor, equipment, materials and services and ensure field operations stay within budget.
• Serve as the main communication contact between sector stakeholders (internal teams, contractors, suppliers, regulatory bodies).
• Facilitate regular meetings, progress updates and reports to inform stakeholders of progress and milestones.
• Identify risks, challenges and obstacles and develop mitigation strategies.

Qualifications / Compétences

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
• Significant experience in project management or construction management, preferably in industrial or commercial projects (heavy industry, metallurgy or chemical sectors).
• PMP or other relevant certifications are an asset.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to motivate teams.
• Advanced proficiency in French and English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt strategies to changing project needs.
