Project Manager and Programmer - Automation

The Project Manager and Programmer will work as part of a team to complete engineering mandates in the areas of food processing (heat exchangers, CIP, sanitary pumps, control valves), utility support system implementation, and packaging lines (conveyors, bottling machine, labeler, palletizer, stretch wrapper, machine safety, production line productivity analysis).

He/she may be called upon to do design, programming, or more global project management, in which case he/she must supervise consultants and other professionals. In addition to fluent French, English is required to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including customers, partners, and colleagues outside Quebec.

General Duties:

• Carry out site surveys as required
• Support production and train staff
• Design control cabinets, control network, selection of PLC / HMI equipment
• Assistance with construction sites and commissioning

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation and Control; or Electronics Technology; or any other training deemed equivalent
• Ideally more than 5 years' relevant programming experience, preferably in consulting engineering or plant project management in the food industry
• Good command of various IT tools (MS Office, PLC programming, SCADA System, maintenance software) required and AutoCAD (asset)
• Knowledge of NEC and CEC electrical codes and regulations required
• Valid passport, driver's license, and ability to travel in Canada and the United States. Available for business trips (from a few days to several weeks, depending on project progress) required
• Ability to interact directly with customers
• A natural aptitude for teamwork
• Ability to manage priorities while respecting deadlines
• Innovative, autonomous, curious, organized, and responsible
• Good oral and written communication skills. Bilingualism (French and English) is required for out-of-province communication
