Taboo Muskoka is a privately owned resort and golf operation whose mission is to "Create happiness by offering incredible Muskoka experiences to our guests and team."

Our Culinary team plays a crucial role in making this happen, and we are looking for a Pizza Chef (Chef de Partie) to join us!

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and cook high-quality pizzas using traditional and modern techniques.
2. Manage dough preparation, stretching, and baking to ensure consistency and excellence.
3. Operate and maintain pizza ovens, ensuring optimal cooking temperatures.
4. Organize and maintain mise en place for pizza stations to meet forecasted demand.
5. Follow portion control guidelines to maintain food cost efficiency.
6. Ensure food storage, rotation, and safety standards comply with regulations.
7. Minimize food waste and contribute to menu planning and quality control.
8. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe kitchen practices.
9. Train and supervise junior kitchen staff and assist with team development.
10. Assist with ordering ingredients and maintaining kitchen inventory.
11. Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to create seasonal pizza offerings.
12. Follow health & safety, fire, and security protocols at all times.

Education & Experience:

1. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a high-volume pizza kitchen, including wood-fired or stone oven experience.
2. Culinary diploma preferred but not required.
3. Ontario Food Handler’s Certification.

Physical Environment/Requirements:

1. Standing for extended periods in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen.
2. Working with hot ovens, sharp tools, and heavy equipment.
3. Occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
