Job summary

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alberta, seeks a Chef de Partie to join our culinary team during an exciting transformation. You will lead a section, supervise cooks, and ensure high-quality dishes for à la carte and buffet service while maintaining safety standards.

The role requires strong leadership, knife skills, and a passion for guest excellence in a luxury resort setting. Visa eligibility is required and staff perks are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years well rounded experience in a 4 or 5 star hotel or reputable restaurant.
• Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Supervise preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards.
• Oversee first cook, second cook and general cook in the kitchen area.

What you will be doing:

• Supervise preparation and service all food items for a la carte and buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
• Oversee first cook, second cook and general cook in the kitchen area
• Lead a team to produce the highest quality of food preparation and presentation
• Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize wastage/spoilage
• Maintain a working environment where creativity, continuous improvement, and constructive criticism are the standard
• Seek opportunities to increase food revenue and decrease kitchen expense and maximize departmental productivity without compromising our guests satisfaction
• Co-ordinate functions for timely set up and delivery
• Provide fast and efficient guests services and respond quickly to all guests’ requests
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage

Qualifications

• Valid Journeypersons’ papers or equivalent required
• Diploma or equivalent Certification to a culinary program required
• Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Successful completion of Alberta’s Food Handler Certification
• Valid Alberta driver’s license required
• Excellent Knife skills and safe handling required
• Highly energetic individual who is excited about the challenges that a large and very versatile resort demands on a day to day basis
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimal supervision
• Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
