Job summary

Compass Group Canada is hiring a Chef/Kitchen Manager in Burnaby to direct and evaluate food-production and service teams. You will supervise cooks, ensure sanitation and QA standards, manage scheduling and payroll, and develop menus while maintaining quality and cost controls.

The role requires Red Seal, post-secondary culinary education, and 3+ years of kitchen management in a fast-paced environment. Excel/Word skills are needed. Competitive pay and benefits apply.

  • Creative ability to apply trendy food items and presentations to operations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, paying attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality food items according to standardized recipes to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
  • Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures.
  • Track food use, waste and consumption to requisition or purchase product.
  • Receive and inspect product and supplies for quality and quantity to ensure appropriate inventory.
  • Help select and develop recipes and menus.

Job description

The hourly wage rate for this position is $25.19. Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We are committed to offering competitive compensation and comply with all applicable pay transparency legislation.
