We're hiring a Chef de Partie to join our world-class team at Sonora Resort, a luxury all-inclusive Relais & Châteaux Resort, in the unspoiled wilderness of British Columbia. Nestled in the Discovery Islands, Sonora Resort is a remote location accessible by water taxi from Campbell River on Vancouver Island. This is a seasonal position working on-site in shift rotations, with a start date as soon as possible.

  • Shift work from April to October, with 14-21 working days and 4 non-working days, subject to change during peak season; flexibility is required.

Position Summary

The Chef de Partie at Sonora Resort will craft exquisite dishes to complement a world-class dining experience. The role involves managing all mise en place for their station, performing lunch or dinner service, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate service behaviors aligned with Relais & Châteaux standards.
  • Receive, clean, and store incoming products per chef standards.
  • Complete daily and weekly cleaning tasks to standard.
  • Maintain their workstation to the chef's standards.
  • Be knowledgeable of all menu items and daily changes.
  • Prepare and execute all items on their station.
  • Assist in cleaning the kitchen after service.
  • Maintain effective communication with colleagues and departments.

Qualifications

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada.
  • Fluent in English; second language is an asset.
  • First Aid certification is an asset.
  • Current Food Safe Certificate.
  • Culinary Arts Levels 1, 2, or 3.
  • Red Seal certification is an asset.
  • Minimum three years of cooking experience; resort experience preferred.
