Are you a detail-oriented and strategic accounting professional with experience in financial reporting, auditing, and tax preparation? We are currently seeking a Chartered Professional Accountant to join our clients' growing accounting and financial services firm in Paradise, Newfoundland.

This permanent career opportunity involves working closely with internal departments and clients, analyzing financial records, and preparing accurate and timely financial statements and tax returns.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:

  • Manage and maintain accurate balance sheets and profit/loss statements
  • Supervise accounting staff and review their work for accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze clients' financial records and provide comprehensive recommendations
  • Prepare and present financial reports and audit findings for individuals, departments, or organizations
  • Conduct external audits and ensure compliance with relevant standards
  • Prepare and file income tax returns using accounting records
  • Reconcile payroll reports with bank statements at period-end
  • Examine accounting and financial documents for completeness and accuracy
  • Provide business, financial, and tax advice to clients and stakeholders
  • Utilize financial technology tools for reporting, analysis, and compliance
Experience & Attributes for Success:
  • Designated Chartered Professional Accountant or near completion
  • Minimum of 3 years of public accounting experience
  • Proven experience in financial statement preparation, audit, and tax filing
  • Proficiency in any, or all, of the following: AccPac, Cantax, QuickBooks, Simple Accounting, Sage, Caseware, TaxPrep, MS Office Suite
  • Trustworthy, ethical, and reliable work ethic
  • Efficient and effective time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop professional relationships
  • Adaptable and flexible with a positive and personable demeanor
Compensation:
  • $90,000 - $100,000+ based on total experience and qualifications
