The Director, Corporate Giving is responsible for leading critical operational functions including Budget Management, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development and execution, and People Leadership. This role is pivotal in driving execution, accountability and sustainable revenue performance. The Director, Corporate Giving plays an essential role in spearheading philanthropy initiatives and fostering strategic collaborations that align with organizational goals. This leadership position is integral to ensuring comprehensive cultivation, engagement and retention efforts. By maintaining a focus on strategy execution, this role ensures the organization meets its objectives effectively and aligns with its overarching mission. In this role, you will: Contribute to department operational strategy, budget, risk management and workforce planning and supports ongoing monitoring and reporting. Develop the annual operating tactical plan, ensuring its implementation aligns with organizational goals, and monitoring progress to achieve key revenue targets. Set sub-unit direction, objectives, resources and budget to achieve short to mid-term priorities, measure progress to plan. Monitor and evaluate department impact and effectiveness, including data collection, analysis, and reporting, and use findings for program improvement, learning, and innovation. Provide coaching to senior managers/managers/supervisors on people management processes and workforce relations including performance, conflict, development planning and hiring. Provide leadership to change initiatives, anticipate and manage resistance to change, communicate effectively and ensure successful implementation. Understand and apply relevant employment legislation, regulation, policies, best practices and trends Collaborate with other functions to achieve alignment and buy-in. Lead and/or provide expertise to complex projects and/or initiatives. Ensure the continuing development of governance and management practices by monitoring external trends and challenges in order to respond to provincial changes in the regulatory and philanthropic environment. Develop best practices and governance in alignment with broader Society policies and processes, leveraging technology and data. What we are looking for: Minimum of 8-12 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in business, marketing, philanthropy, nonprofit management, community engagement or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven leadership and management experience at the director level for a team of fundraising professionals, with the ability to provide strategic vision, drive innovation, and inspire and motivate teams to achieve program objectives. Strong mental fortitude to navigate high-pressure environments, handle setbacks with resilience, and maintain focus on long-term goals, while fostering a positive and supportive team dynamic. A CFRE is an asset. Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite), fundraising software, and donor management systems. Financial acumen with a strong proficiency in developing and managing budgets, monitoring expenditures, forecasting, conducting variance analysis for visibility and alignment, and ensuring financial accountability.
