Position Details

The shift pattern for this post is 12-hour rotational shifts. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time hours.

Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Care of the Elderly team as a Charge Nurse. This role involves leading, implementing, and evaluating standards of high-quality nursing care in Ward 51, a 30-bed Acute Assessment Unit for the Elderly. The ward cares for some of the most dependent and vulnerable patients with a wide range of medical conditions and clinical needs.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead your team to promote and provide high-quality patient care.
  2. Supervise qualified and unqualified staff.
  3. Ensure staff have access to appropriate learning opportunities and encourage best practices.
  4. Support the delivery of high standards of care in line with the CAS standards framework.
  5. Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  6. Be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse for clinical guidance and professional management.
  7. Deputize for the Senior Charge Nurse as required.
  8. Participate in personal development, education, and audit activities.
Candidate Requirements
  • Substantial experience at Band 5 level within a relevant setting.
  • High level of IT skills.
  • Good understanding of policies, procedures, and national targets.
  • Motivated, organized, with excellent communication skills and a desire to develop leadership and managerial skills.
