The shift pattern for this position is days/nights.


We have the opportunity for a Band 6 Charge Nurse to join an enthusiastic forward-thinking team within The Initial Assessment Unit (IAU) in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. As part of this team you will have responsibility for assessment, delivery and supervision of all care needs within the acute receiving environment. You will be expected to lead the nursing team and coordinate the unit as deputy to the Senior Charge Nurse. You will provide clinical leadership for the assessment of patient's needs, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care which are evidence-based. A high degree of clinical expertise will be evident with also the ability to work to high clinical standards in this fast-paced environment. The successful applicant requires to be flexible, forward-thinking and able to work effectively within a changing and dynamic environment. You must demonstrate an awareness of staff, clinical and financial governance. The successful candidates should possess excellent communication skills and sound decision-making skills with evidence of ongoing professional development.
