We have created a new leadership role, Channel Marketing Director , to drive our Go-To-Market strategy across our partner ecosystem, from silicon to public cloud, through channel and hardware manufacturers. As the publisher of Ubuntu and a leading open source provider, we support our partners technically and commercially in innovative value chains including Public Cloud, Cybersecurity, AI, and IoT.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, you will lead a team of marketing managers managing partner programs. You will collaborate with partners to position Canonical as their trusted partner for open source products and solutions, and maximize ROI of our campaigns supporting partner motions such as sell-to, sell-through, or sell-with.

The partner marketing team comprises talented professionals skilled in joint value propositions, lead generation campaigns, messaging, and channel selection. They are passionate about technology and early adopters of advanced partner analytics technologies.

Location : This role is home-based in the AMER region.

The role entails :

  • Building a marketing strategy that drives pipeline growth and revenue through key partners such as Silicon, IHV, ODM, Channel, GSI, etc.
  • Aligning with growth, field, and product marketing to integrate activities with Canonical's campaigns.
  • Executing partner campaigns across the funnel from recruitment to demand generation.
  • Engaging and elevating the partner community with exceptional content in partnership with communication, product, and alliances teams.
  • Multiplying partner impact through programmatic approaches.
  • Crafting bespoke plans and joint value propositions to stand out.
  • Championing partner collaboration internally and externally.
  • Managing Marketing Development Funds (MDF).
  • Driving adoption of analytics and reporting tools to improve ROI.
  • Mentoring and developing a diverse team of partner marketers.
  • Cultivating a culture of testing and optimization.

In addition, we seek :

  • Strong understanding of the technology ecosystem including Silicon, IHV, ISV, ODM / OEMs, cloud providers, and channels.
  • Leadership in aligning diverse partners around Go To Market strategies.
  • Proven success in co-marketing programs in the tech space.
  • Experience reporting on complex partner marketing activities.
  • Ability to foster a culture of excellence, agility, and self-drive.
  • Curiosity and continuous learning habits.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Outstanding academic results.
  • Willingness to travel internationally up to 4 times a year for company events.

Preferred additional experience includes familiarity with specific verticals (e.g., Telco, Finance, Industrial, Automotive) and leading distributed teams across time zones.
