Position Description

The Gordon S. Lang School of Business and Economics at the University of Guelph invites applications for the position of Chair, Department of Management (Open to Tenured University of Guelph Internal Applicants Only).

The Chair reports to the Dean and is responsible for the effective operation of the department, supporting faculty through mentoring, strategic planning, and fostering a positive departmental culture. The role includes promoting excellence in teaching, research, and service, managing external relations, and ensuring departmental policies are followed.

Ideal candidates will have tenure, a record of success in teaching, research, and service, and demonstrate leadership qualities, collaboration, and a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion. A Master's or Doctoral degree is required, along with experience in external relations, human resource management, planning, and budgeting.
