Rocky Mountain School District No. 6 is accepting external applications for Casual Labourers in the Golden Zone, effective from July 7, 2025, to August 22, 2025.

The Labourer is responsible for maintaining a healthy, clean, and safe environment by performing manual tasks related to the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and equipment. This includes operating hand and power tools under the supervision of operations department personnel and the general direction of the Operations Supervisor.

Examples of Work
  • Assisting in planting, weeding, pruning, and maintaining district fields and grounds.
  • Assisting in the repair and installation of drainage, irrigation, and sewer systems.
  • Lifting and carrying heavy objects and materials used in schools and district facilities.
  • Transporting, loading, and unloading furniture, equipment, construction materials, and supplies.
  • Performing specific unskilled tasks as requested.
  • Demonstrating a courteous, fair, and patient approach when communicating with students, staff, parents, and the public.
  • Snow removal when assigned.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Abilities, and Skills
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions.
  • Skill in operating hand and power tools.
  • Good physical condition, strength, and agility.
  • Knowledge of using computers and electronic devices.
Training, Experience, and Certification
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional relevant training or experience is an asset.
Rate of Pay

$21.25/hr, as per Collective Agreement 440
