Job summary

Atomic Cartoons, a Blue Ant Studios company, is seeking a talented CG Rigging Artist to join a flagship project based in British Columbia. You will build and maintain character rigs, collaborate with animators and modelers, and help develop production tools to streamline workflows.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a CG Rigging Artist on a CG animated series or feature.
  • Rigging experience with Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience rigging a variety of characters and props, including facial animation systems.
  • Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
  • Background in visual arts/design; understanding of form and movement.
  • Basic modeling skills and polygonal mesh flow.
  • Knowledge of dynamics, animation, or previs is a plus.
  • Experience with Flow (ShotGrid) is a plus.
  • BC residents preferred; eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques for the production.
  • Work closely with the animators and modelers to set up character rigs that will maintain a cohesive look during the animation process.
  • Share ideas, collaborate and work closely with other members of the production.
  • Be updated and familiar with new techniques, tools or other related software.
  • Meet deadlines as assigned by production management.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented CG Rigging Artist to join the crew one of our CG projects!

What You Will Do:

What We Are Looking For:
  • Prior experience as a CG Rigging Artist on a CG Animated series or feature.
  • Rigging experience with Autodesk Maya.
  • Experience with Python required.
  • Experience rigging a variety of characters and props, including facial animation systems.
  • Able to communicate creative and technical thoughts and ideas.
  • Background in visual arts/design with a strong understanding of form, geometry, and movement.
  • Basic modeling skills and ability to understand polygonal mesh flow.
  • Knowledge of dynamics, animation and/or previs is an asset.
  • Experience with Flow (Autodesk Shotgrid) is an asset.
  • BC residents are preferred for this role.
  • Currently legally eligible to work in Canada.
Start Date:

Mid/Late August 2026

Applicants must have resided within BC as of December 31, 2025 and be able to provide the appropriate supporting documents. All Atomic employees in this role have the opportunity to work remotely within BC, artists within Vancouver and the Lower Mainland can also choose hybrid and in-studio options.

At Atomic Cartoons and Blue Ant Studios, we take into consideration a wide range of compensation factors including background, skills, location, and experience to determine competitive pay. In addition to competitive pay, this position is eligible for company-sponsored benefits including medical, GRSP, vacation pay, paid holiday break,paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Please note: This expected pay range is for British Columbia and is not applicable to locations outside of the province of British Columbia.

Wage ranges are based on a weekly rate.

$1,300 - $1,600 CAD
