A career as a Senior Director Anti-Money Laundering in the Financial Markets Compliance team at National Bank means acting as the person responsible for NBFM's anti-money laundering program. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organization through your expertise in financial crime.
Your Job:
- Oversee the NBFM Anti-Money Laundering Program by establishing, implementing, and maintaining procedures designed to ensure compliance with items such as client onboarding, suspicious activity monitoring, AML reporting, risk assessments, training, sanction monitoring, and recordkeeping requirements.
- Lead the implementation and execution of various end-to-end work streams to improve the overall AML and Compliance Risk Programs, including implementation of new products and services.
- Build your own team responsible for AML transaction monitoring and surveillance programs.
- Serve as the primary liaison on AML compliance matters, in coordination with the Corporate anti-money laundering team.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure compliance procedures are up-to-date and followed.
- Ensure governance related to AML, including Foreign Centers.
- Proactively manage high-risk clients and assist the corporate team in risk management initiatives.
- Represent the anti-money laundering aspect in the development of new products and business initiatives.
- Design training materials tailored to financial markets.
- Produce dashboards and reports for Management.

Prerequisites:
- University degree and 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in the securities industry.
- Expertise in Canadian Financial Markets and AML regulations (OSFI, FINTRAC, CSA, CIRO).
- Experience in risk assessment and controls.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Leadership and team spirit.
- Excellent analytical, synthesis, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders.
