Job Details

The Director of Finance is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the delivery of financial services throughout WorkplaceNL. This includes financial reporting, investment management, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, purchasing, public tendering, vendor management, building operations, maintenance, and security.

Role Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and oversee the Finance Department ensuring effective internal controls, financial management, and oversight.
  • Manage investments in the injury fund according to Board-approved policies.
  • Oversee daily cash-flow monitoring and the management of short-term borrowing programs.
  • Formulate policies and procedures related to investments, funding, accounting, internal control, financial planning, budgeting, capital asset purchases/leases, purchasing, banking, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of IFRS and principles of fiduciary, financial, and business value management.
  • Evaluate the impact of changes in standards, actuarial valuations, and assumptions on financial conditions.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration.
  • Chartered Professional Accounting designation.
  • Minimum of seven years of senior financial management experience in a public or private organization.
  • Experience managing investment or pension funds is an asset.
