What you will do:
- Receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, including equipment/system malfunction descriptions
- Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers’ Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell
- Diagnose problems and perform repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building products at customer sites
- Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, and bulletins
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and manuals
- Contact customer representatives to identify equipment/system issues
- Provide excellent customer service through consistent communication to ensure satisfaction
- Complete service acknowledgments with proper coding via smartphones and laptops
- Obtain customer signatures upon service completion
- Participate in scheduled on-call rotations
- Assist in training or mentoring team members
- Perform other duties as assigned
What we look for:
Required:
- 3+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire & Life Safety systems
- Valid CFAA Certificate
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals
- Knowledge of test equipment, multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
