Responsibilities

Tyco Integrated Fire & Security is a leader in manufacturing, sales, and service of fire alarm, security, sound, nurse call, and sprinkler systems. We develop innovative, high-quality solutions tailored to customer needs.

Key duties
  • Assist with installation, commissioning, and verification of fire alarm equipment, including device and circuit connections
  • Interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and specifications
  • Supervise and coordinate work with electricians on Fire Alarm systems
  • Prepare verification reports and conduct system acceptance tests with authorities
  • Complete As-Built drawings after job completion
  • Maintain knowledge of product lines and identify deficiencies and code issues in the field
  • Travel within the district as needed
  • Perform small programming modifications and system programming (training provided)
  • Assist in developing training programs for employees and customers
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the Fire Protection industry
  • College diploma in Fire Protection, Electrical/Electronic, or equivalent experience
  • Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of provincial building and fire codes
  • Ability to program micro-processor-based systems without supervision
  • Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and Windows OS
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and electronic test equipment knowledge
  • Clear technical communication skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and climb ladders/scaffolding
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
