Job description

Are you a dedicated, passionate professional looking to grow your career with a company long-term? Join Hall Shoring & Foundations as a CFA Foundations Drill Rig Operator!

The Foundation Drill Rig Operator is responsible for understanding all functions of the drill rig they are operating, following the OEM Manuals for safety, operations, & maintenance, and Hall Shoring & Foundation Safety Program. The operator is responsible for pre-trip equipment inspections prior to operation, ensuring damages or required repairs are documented and reported to the site supervisor.

Your day-to-day will look like:

• Operate company drill rig in a safe manner and to OEM specifications
• Complete basic maintenance
• Report damage or repairs to the site supervisor immediately
• Assist with training and development of new workers
• Maintain and complete daily paperwork provided by the site supervisor
• Ensure any unsafe activities or directions given are stopped and reported to the site supervisor
• Ensure proper foundation location is being completed (with help from ground personnel)
• Help ensure foundation quality is maintained as per design specifications
• Comply with all site safety rules
• Help promote and maintain a safe and fair working culture
• Follow proper hoisting and rigging practices

You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:

Qualifications:

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in CFA (Continuous Flight Auger) foundation and shoring drilling activities
• Education: grade 12 with diploma
• Understand and interpret drawings
• Knowledgeable in construction cut-off elevations
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment
• Designations: Valid Driver's License/Ground Disturbance

Technical Skills:

• Understands the means and methods of construction associated with foundation drilling, site utility, underground utility, and construction
• Understand work sequencing and strategy for schedules
• Is goal-oriented and can react quickly to challenging circumstances to achieve the desired end results
• Is organized, proactive, plans well, and addresses problems promptly
• Is committed to doing quality work the first time with little or no need for re-work
• Knowledgeable with ground disturbance, ground stabilization along trenches, underground and overhead utilities
• Operating equipment and have a strong understanding of capabilities
