Job description

Slave Lake Veterinary Services in Slave Lake, Alberta, Canada, is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician for a full-time position at our busy companion animal practice. Hours are Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with possible overtime due to emergency situations during the week. No weekend work is required, but rotating call duties are necessary, involving 8 days per month (Monday to Thursday until 10 pm). New graduates are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities include:

1. Collecting blood samples
2. Performing radiographs and laboratory procedures
3. Administering medications and monitoring in-house patients
4. Preparing and monitoring animals during surgery
5. Maintaining hospital equipment

This is a great opportunity to utilize your RVT skills within a supportive and dynamic team. Our clinic is well-equipped with an in-house lab (Idexx Procyte Dx, Catalyst One, SediVue), ultrasonic dental unit, digital radiography, dental radiography, Idexx ECG, and Avimark software. Currently, our team includes 2 veterinarians, 1 RVT, and 2 receptionists.
