Job summary

Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada, Limited seeks a Utility Arborist to support several utility contracts across Nanaimo, BC. In this on-site role you will perform line clearing, pruning and removal services for electric utilities and rail customers.

The position requires a Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation, line clearance certification, and 3+ years of experience with strong climbing abilities. Excellent benefits and career growth available.

Qualifications

• Certified Arborist or Utility Tree Trimmer designation required.
• Line clearance certification.
• Electric utility tree trimming/climbing experience preferred.
• Understanding and implementation of safe ascent of tree canopies at all heights.
• Minimum 3 years experience.
• Strong tree and shrub identification skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
• Valid provincial driver’s licence and 5-ton vehicle/air brake endorsement considered an asset.
• Ability to work safely as part of a team and willingness to learn and progress.
• Preferred background in Forestry, Horticulture or Landscaping.
• First Aid certification preferred.

Position Overview

As a Utility Arborist you get to apply your skills for our customers across various utilities. You will support multiple service points across our various contracts ensuring we are constantly able to meet and deliver on our clients expectations.

The pay rate for this position is $41.14- $47.40.

Job Duties
