Job summary

Magna Powertrain in Ontario, Markham, Canada seeks an experienced Tool & Die Maker to build and maintain dies, develop new dies, and optimize tooling for optimized production. A strong background in fineblanking, GD&T, metrology, and independent debugging is essential.

You'll manage spare parts inventories, maintain tooling documentation, and collaborate with European suppliers to improve tool life and performance while complying with safety standards and training requirements.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario tool & die maker certificate with proof of valid apprenticeship or master tool and die certificate or equivalent European apprenticeship and tool and die.
• Minimum 7 years experience in fineblanking of performed parts, advanced transfer dies and deep draw.
• Experience in maintenance and die acceptance including approval,Grade 12 education and college apprenticeship or equivalent European education.
• Able to work independently with strong documentation and GD&T/metrology knowledge.
• Strong English language communication skills, certified crane operator; WHMIS & lockout/tagout training.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain tools as defined by toolroom manager.
• Develop new dies; troubleshoot and improve product capability; adjust to quoted rates.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and control system; daily/weekly tooling inventory.
• Establish maintenance intervals; ensure tooling documentation is up to date.
• Communicate tooling changes with European suppliers; minimize downtime.
