The Role

As a Clinical Therapy Aide, you will work under the direction of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to provide restorative therapy interventions to residents. You will play a key role in promoting resident independence, comfort, and quality of life by supporting therapeutic exercises and interventions. This is a great opportunity to be part of a compassionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality, personalized care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Therapeutic Support: Assist residents in individual and group exercise programs, applying techniques such as hot/cold packs, T.E.N.S., ultrasound, and range of motion exercises under the supervision of a therapist.
  • Resident Care: Observe and report changes in residents' physical, mental, or emotional status to the supervising therapist. Maintain a high level of confidentiality and respond promptly to any emergency situations.
  • Care Plan Participation: Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement personalized care plans, ensuring that therapy interventions align with resident needs.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately document assessments, treatments, and outcomes in PointClickCare and other required systems. Complete AADL forms and track resident attendance and equipment use.
  • Safety & Environment: Promote a safe and healthy environment by adhering to safe lifting techniques, infection control protocols, and all other health and safety guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in regular team meetings and assist in data collection for quality indicators and outcome measures.

Who We're Looking For

  • Education: Graduate of a Rehabilitation Therapy Aide Program from an accredited institution, or a foreign-trained Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist awaiting registration in Canada.
  • Experience: Experience in long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and best practices in restorative care.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
