Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Surgical Processor at Hinton Healthcare Centre. You will decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize hospital supplies and surgical instrumentation, using aseptic technique to prevent infections.

You will ensure equipment is in proper working order and report issues to the supervisor. The role provides casual/relief employment with days shifts and a 7.75 hour shift pattern, starting Oct 4, 2026, in Hinton, Alberta.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Device Reprocessing (MDR) program.
• Completion of a Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) certification or Canadian Standards Association (CSA) certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, reassemble and sterilize hospital supplies, equipment and surgical instrumentation.
• Ensure instrumentation and equipment are in proper working order and report problems.
• Apply aseptic technique and Universal Precautions to prevent Hospital Acquired Infections (HAI).
