Responsibilities

  • Procure mobility aids, slings, and commodes with support from OT/PT and vendors.
  • Support and educate on lifts and transfers, conduct audits, maintain records, monitor equipment, and participate in care evaluations and team meetings.

Position:
  • Day Part-Time Certified Rehab Health Care Aide - effective immediately
Job Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the Rehab Aide assesses and supports Elder’s mobility needs through exercise, ensures appropriate mobility aids, and mentors Health Care Aides in prescribed exercise routines. Works alongside Occupational and Physiotherapists in assessing rehabilitation needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Elder participation in restorative care, positioning, ambulation, physical functioning, and daily activities.
  • Procure mobility aids, slings, and commodes with support from OT/PT and vendors.
  • Support and educate on lifts and transfers, conduct audits, maintain records, monitor equipment, and participate in care evaluations and team meetings.
  • Follow infection control procedures, adhere to safety guidelines, and uphold Elder-centered care standards.
Qualifications:
  • Rehab Assistant Certificate and Healthcare Aide Certificate preferred; other relevant certificates or degrees considered.
  • Experience in long-term care, concern for Elder care, and ability to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills in English, current criminal and abuse checks.

Salary and benefits are as per the collective agreement.
