Job Description

We offer a well-integrated team approach with Orthotic, Prosthetic, Pedorthic, and Specialized Seating programs. Located on the beautiful Bay of Fundy, with bedroom communities along the Saint John River system, the area is full of natural and water-based recreational opportunities.

The caseload involves providing services to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric, including assessment, measurement, fabrication, fitting, and repair of various prostheses. Responsibilities include managing prosthetic care as directed by physicians' prescriptions and ensuring ongoing follow-up. The role also involves specifying, supervising, and training assigned clinical and technical support staff, ensuring quality of work by technicians, and overseeing the manufacture, repair, and modification of appliances. Technical work as required, participation in clinics, workshops, seminars, and providing in-services to other disciplines are also part of the duties. Additionally, mentoring subordinates and representing the Prosthetics service in planning for future growth and development of Metro Health Services are essential components of this role.

Qualifications include being an OPC Certified Prosthetist in good standing.
