Overview

Physician Assistant / Clinical Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Assistant to support our physicians in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed physician to provide diagnostic reviews, patient intake for orthotics, learning how to refract patients for eye exams and potentially learn how to treat dry eye patients, assist with examinations and procedures.

Positions
  • Position 1: Orthotics focused: doing patient intakes, taking 3d molds of feet and helping with variety of other tasks
  • Position 2: Refracting patients and performing Eye Care duties. All training will be provided.
  • Position 3: Reviewing diagnostics from advanced diagnostic machinery and helping physicians diagnose diabetic retinopathy, High Cholesterol, Retinol Hypertension, Auto Immune Disease (Sjogren\'s)
Duties
  • Practice medicine under the supervision of a licensed physician
  • Accurately document patient medical history, physical exam findings, and physician orders into the electronic medical record during patient encounters
  • Assist physician with administrative tasks as needed
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhering to PHIA regulations
  • Patient intake: Greet patients, verify information, take medical history
  • Assist with exams: Help the doctor during physical examinations
  • Explain procedures and providing basic health information to patients
  • Disinfect medical equipment and maintaining a clean work area
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a medical office.
  • Familiarity with Accuro, electronic medical records system, is highly desirable.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is a must
  • Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba as a Physician Assistant or Clinical Assistant.
  • Eligible for a Medical Staff Appointment.
  • Prior experience preferred.
  • Graduate of a Physician Assistant Educational Program acceptable to CPSM.
