Job description

Holland Bloorview is seeking a Full-Time Certified Orthotist for an 18-month temporary position.

The Orthotic/Prosthetic department provides services to pediatric and adult clients requiring orthotic and prosthetic devices to enhance mobility, function, and independence. As a Certified Orthotist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive orthotic care to children, youth, and adults. This role involves assessing, designing, fabricating, fitting, and maintaining custom orthotic devices to maximize patient function and mobility. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential to ensure client-centered, goal-directed, and evidence-based care.

Qualifications:
  1. Orthotist certified from Orthotics Prosthetics Canada (OPC).
  2. A minimum of two years of experience in pediatric orthotics or a related healthcare setting.
  3. Strong knowledge and skills in assessing, designing, fabricating, fitting, and adjusting orthotic devices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  5. Ability to work independently and in a team within a fast-paced environment.
  6. Commitment to high-quality care and supporting rehabilitation for children and youth.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience in pediatric orthotic care.
  2. Advanced training or certifications in specific orthotic areas.
  3. Knowledge of digital technology processes.
  4. Bilingual in English and French is an asset.
