Qualifications

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary setting, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications: Education: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Experience: 0-1 years.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing treatment plans created by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
  • Support patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to enhance their functional abilities and independence.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of patient responses, progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Educate patients and families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies for ongoing progress.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Support Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing observations and insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
