Qualifications

Job Summary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA), under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, provides therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment, adhering to professional standards and ethical practices.

Licenses and Certifications: Must hold and maintain a current, valid state OTA license or certification. CPR certification is preferred.

Educational Requirements: Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.

Experience: 0-1 years.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by occupational therapists, including therapeutic exercises, ADL training, and other interventions.
  2. Support patients with exercises, activities, and adaptive techniques to enhance their functional abilities and independence.
  3. Maintain up-to-date documentation of patients’ responses to therapy, progress, and report findings to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  4. Educate and guide patients and their families on home exercises, adaptive techniques, and strategies to support ongoing progress.
  5. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  6. Assist Occupational Therapists in evaluating patient needs and progress, providing observations and insights.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
