Position Description

A nursing assistant responsible for providing routine nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures, as directed by the Charge Nurse, RN Supervisor, Director of Nurses, or Administrator, to ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• Licensed as a certified nursing assistant.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a CNA or clinical experience during certification training.
• Sincere desire to serve the ill, aged, and infirm.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Tactful communication with personnel, residents, families, visitors, and the public.
• Willingness to work harmoniously with others.
• Patience, tact, cheerfulness, and enthusiasm, with the ability to handle residents at various maturity levels.
• Good health and emotional stability.
• Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals.

General Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform duties as assigned, following policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
• Make resident rounds at shift start and every two hours to administer nursing care.
• Verify resident identity before care or service.
• Report missing ID bands immediately.
• Make beds, clean bedside and overbed tables.
• Ensure water pitchers are clean, filled, and within residents' reach.
• Other duties as directed by supervisors.
