Job description

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential support in the care of geriatric residents, assisting with daily living activities and personal care. Responsibilities include aiding with ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, as well as operating and assisting with medical equipment such as wheelchairs, mechanical lifts, and oxygen regulators. The CNA monitors residents' physical and mental status, takes vital signs, and manages specimens. They also ensure resident comfort, respond to requests, and support medical and nursing staff in various tasks and emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist residents with ambulation, eating, bathing, dressing, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).

Operate and assist with medical equipment, including geri-chairs, wheelchairs, and oxygen regulators.

Monitor residents' physical and mental status, take vital signs, and manage specimens.

Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff, documenting and responding to requests and concerns.

Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of resident areas, change bedding, and handle linens and medical supplies.

Support nursing staff with medical procedures and post-surgical care while following universal precautions.

Participate in training and multi-disciplinary meetings for patient care planning and skill development.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Current CNA license

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Newly Licensed welcome!

Experience in geriatric or long-term care settings preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
