Job description

Responsibilities

The CRNA is responsible for the pre-operative, intra-operative, and immediate post-operative care of patients requiring anesthesia for various procedures. Responsibilities include:

  1. Pre-anesthesia assessment and requesting diagnostic studies
  2. Administering pre-anesthetic medications and anesthesia (general, regional, monitored care)
  3. Monitoring anesthesia and managing airway, ventilation, and patient stability
  4. Post-anesthesia care and discharge planning
  5. Collaborating with physicians and adhering to I.C.A.R.E standards
Working Conditions

Care is provided in main ORs and various 'Out of OR' locations such as Radiology and Cardiac Cath Lab, often in environments with diverse equipment and conditions.

Qualifications
  1. State licensure as a registered nurse and compliance with Massachusetts advanced practice regulations
  2. Graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
  3. Certification by the NBCRNA and recertification as applicable
  4. BLS and ACLS certifications
