Job summary

Aylo Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care in a primary care setting under supervision. You will assist physicians and nurse practitioners, manage vitals, and support routine procedures for patients of all ages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• LPN program completion with current license.
• MA Certification/Registration current.
• BLS card from American Heart Association required.
• 6+ months in a clinical private practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients, record vitals in EMR (eClinicalWorks).
• Prepare exam rooms and assist with instruments.
• Sterilize instruments and rooms.
• Inspect rooms for cleanliness and comfort.
• Administer injections and draw blood.
• Perform routine lab tests and monitor equipment.
• Operate diagnostic equipment for routine tests.
• Enter data into EMR; record vitals, EKG, spirometry.
• Schedule patients for tests and procedures.
• Process prescriptions via call/fax/e-prescribing.
• Stock and inventory supplies.
• Adhere to care standards and HIPAA.
• Assist with additional duties as assigned.
• Maintain clean, tidy office environment.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Certified Medical Assistant provides patient care in a primary/family care practice under the direction of a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner. In this role, the certified medical assistant serves patients of all ages including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records patient information in electronic medical records system (eClinicalWorks)
• Prepares exam rooms for patients, and setup and assist with instruments and equipment
• Clean and sterilize instruments and exam rooms
• Inspect patient rooms for cleanliness, comfort, and sanitary conditions
• Give injections or treatment and draws blood
• Perform routine laboratory tests, start, monitors, and discontinue
• Operate diagnostic equipment to administer routine tests
• Key data into electronic medical records; vital signs, performs EKG, spirometry and or other similar office procedures
• Schedule patients for tests and procedures
• Call in, fax and/or e-prescribing required medication
• Inventory and stock medical supplies and materials
• Adhere to all standards of care, Code of Conduct, and HIPAA Compliance
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• General cleaning duties to ensure that the office remains clean and tidy for both patients and staff

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• High School graduate or equivalent education
• LPN- Completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program with a current practical nurse license
• MA- Current Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required
• Current Basic Life Support card from the American Heart Association
• 6 months+ years working experience in a clinical private practice setting preferred
• Ability to travel to nearby offices as needed
• Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, prioritize, and facilitate many on-going tasks
• Must be organized and attentive to detail, and able to work quickly and efficiently to assure patient comfort and satisfaction
