About Kativik Ilisarniliriniq :

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Kl) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

Functions and Duties :

The main role involves maintenance, repair, and transformation work across various construction trades. The employee performs or assists in general and preventive maintenance on all equipment and operational systems of the school board. Travel to other villages may be required according to the work schedule or in emergencies. Additional related tasks may be assigned, and coordination of other maintenance workers may be necessary.

Qualifications :
  • Diploma or vocational training in a building specialty related to the job category, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience (e.g., electrician, plumber, etc.).
  • The Board may waive some qualifications for suitable candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) and agree to follow a training plan.
Requirements :
  • Knowledge of carpentry, electrical work, painting, mechanics, and plumbing for maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience with heating and ventilation systems is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of at least two of the three languages of the school board (Inuktitut, French, English).
  • Valid driver’s license.
Working Hours :

38.75 hours per week

Classification, Salary, and Benefits :

According to the AENQ collective agreement for support staff. Job category 5117: $25.63/hour, plus a 10% attraction and retention premium and an isolation premium ranging from $10,627 to $22,100. Benefits are prorated based on the task percentage.
