Job summary

TransAlta Corporation is seeking a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the Alberta Generation Services team. The role reports to the Shop Foreman and emphasizes safety and cost-effective maintenance at the Highvale Mine (SunHills) site, located about 65 km west of Edmonton.

You will perform maintenance, installation, and repair tasks across the site and may take on broader duties as operations require. A journeyman certification, offroad credentials, and licenses are essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician trades certificate or equivalent.
• Experience with farm equipment preferred.
• Valid Class 1 license; Class 5 required.
• Proficient with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, data entry).

Responsibilities

• Providing maintenance, installation, and repair functions on a site-wide basis.
• Assume other duties as required in response to changing circumstances at the Reclamation center or Company.
