Qualifications

  • Current CDA certification and minimum 2 years of experience required.

Location and Details

Location: Downtown Vancouver - Transcend Specialized Dentistry

Position Type: Full-time (4-5 days/week)

Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (No evenings or weekends, unless there is interest)

Salary Range: starting at $36 - $42 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Certified Dental Assistant to join our multi-specialty dental practice with specialists in prosthodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics. The ideal candidate will have experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role requires adaptability, a commitment to continuous learning, and a drive to excel in a team environment dedicated to clinical excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Assistance and Patient Care:
    • Review daily schedule and ensure materials, lab cases, tools, and components are available
    • Assist chairside during procedures with specialists
    • Set up and turn over operatories between procedures
    • Handle digital radiographs and CBCT scans safely
    • Take digital impressions and photographs
    • Provide patients with post-operative instructions
    • Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
  2. Patient Coordination and Communication:
    • Greet patients and conduct introductory interviews
    • Assist specialists during consultations and coordinate patient care
    • Draft clinical notes as per specialist requirements
    • Coordinate treatments and present cases to patients
    • Review estimates and treatment plans with patients
    • Check out patients and schedule follow-up appointments
    • Collect payments and deposits when applicable
    • Engage with patients professionally and friendly
  3. Administrative and Operational Support:
    • Maintain accurate patient records
    • Input data for patient charts prior to appointments
    • Assist with inventory management of dental supplies
    • Keep clinical and storage areas clean and organized
    • Participate in team meetings and practice improvements
  4. Sterilization and Maintenance:
    • Handle sterilization of instruments and equipment
    • Conduct equipment maintenance checks and report issues
    • Maintain a sterile environment through infection control
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Current CDA certification in British Columbia
  • Minimum 2 years of CDA experience, preferably in a specialty setting
  • Experience in restorative, surgical, or orthodontic procedures
  • Proficiency in radiography, digital impressions, and photography
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of dental practice management software
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional growth
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
