Job summary

Edon Management is seeking a Certified Arborist to join our Grounds and Snow Management team in Edmonton. You will prune, assess, and remove trees across commercial, institutional, municipal, and residential properties while supporting year-round grounds and winter snow/ice management.

Requires three years of arboriculture experience, Alberta Class 5 license, and First Aid/CPR training. You will operate chainsaws, aerial lift booms, and related equipment, maintaining client records and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of arboriculture or tree-care experience.
• Valid Alberta Class 5 license with a satisfactory driver's abstract.
• First Aid/CPR training (provided if needed).
• Experience operating chainsaws, aerial lift booms, and arboricultural equipment.
• Knowledge of Alberta tree species, pests, diseases, and tree-care practices.
• Knowledge of safe aerial-lift and elevated-work practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Prune, plant, transplant, cable, brace, and remove trees to industry standards.
• Assess tree health, structure, pests, disease, and hazards; recommend treatment or removal.
• Respond to storm damage, emergency tree hazards, and after-hours callouts.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, aerial lift booms, skid steers, and loaders.
• Follow Edon's safety program, OH&S requirements, and Edmonton's Dutch Elm Disease pruning restrictions.
• Assist with grounds maintenance and winter snow/ice clearing as needed.
• Communicate professionally with clients, property managers, and contractors, and keep accurate service records.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

• Standard First Aid/CPR (training provided if you don't already hold this)
• Experienceoperating chainsaws, aerial lift booms, and arboricultural equipment.
• Knowledgeof tree species common to Alberta, including common pests, diseases,structural defects, and tree-care practices.
• Knowledgeof safe aerial-lift and elevated work-platform practices.
• Abilityto work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• PesticideApplicator License.
• Experiencewith commercial, institutional, or municipal landscape maintenance.
• Experienceoperating loaders, skid steers, or snow-removal equipment.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Outdoorwork in all weather conditions throughout the year.
• Workat heights using aerial lift booms, with exposure to noise, dust, andheavy equipment.
• Frequentwalking, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, and working on uneventerrain.
• Abilityto lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (23 kg) as part of theessential duties of the position safely and consistently.
• Occasionalovertime, after-hours callouts, and emergency response during storms andsignificant weather events.
