Job Summary

Sycamores partners with the 988 mental health crisis hotline to provide support to individuals experiencing a mental health crisis. The hotline offers initial phone support and triages calls to the Mobile Crisis Outreach Program for in-person assistance. The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team operates 7 days a week from 7:30 pm to 8:30 am, with flexible shifts. The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor II or III (CADC) responds in person to provide crisis stabilization, safety planning, danger assessments, and follow-up support. Using the Mobile Crisis Outreach vehicle, this role co-responds with a Peer Support Specialist and collaborates with various community agencies and emergency services.

The department evaluates individuals in crisis and determines if involuntary hospitalization is necessary to ensure safety. The CADC leads care coordination efforts, working with the Peer Support Specialist to locate hospitals, housing, and other resources. The program covers specific geographical areas including Desert, Mid-County, and Western Regions.

Starting Pay Range

$68,640 - $74,000 annually for full-time employment, with an additional $4,160 per year overnight differential. Starting pay depends on experience and education.

Shift Schedule

Saturday - Tuesday, 10:30 pm - 8:30 am

Qualifications
  • California Level II or III Alcohol and Drug Counselor certification required.
  • Certification as CADC II or III under CCAPP required.
  • Maintain relevant certifications as a condition of employment.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred.
  • Completion of required trainings per agency and regulatory standards.
  • RUBHS experience preferred.
  • Valid California Driver License and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to operate agency vehicle and adhere to safety standards.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to de-escalate consumers and manage physical situations.
  • Frequent driving and travel to various locations.
  • Standing, walking, sitting, reaching, bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and other physical activities as needed.
  • Use of vision, hearing, and communication skills essential for interaction and safety.
  • Presence in the office when not in the field.
  • Ability to perform physical interventions and operate a vehicle.
