Job description

As a certificated teacher, you will collaborate with children and families in our Kindergarten and PUF programs, upholding principles of inclusion and diversity. You will work under the supervision of the Kindergarten Manager, reporting to the Educational Supports Manager.

Job Responsibilities

1. Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
2. Participate within a Professional Learning Community.
3. Develop and implement Individual Program Plans (IPP) for our Program Unit Funded (PUF) program, supporting Educational Assistants and classroom educators.
4. Follow the Alberta Education Curriculum and the Scope and Sequence for our Kindergarten program, providing weekly lesson plans to the Kindergarten Manager.
5. Build relationships with children, families, the therapy team, and Centre staff through effective communication.
6. Collaborate with families, the therapy team, and other stakeholders.
7. Complete report cards, IPPs, Professional Growth Plans, and other paperwork promptly.
8. Sick time is available.
9. Paid winter and spring breaks.

Requirements

• Must have an Alberta Education Interim or Permanent Certification.
• Must be eligible to work in Canada with a valid work permit; sponsorship is not available.
• Possess a Bachelor of Education degree with an interim or permanent teaching certificate from Alberta Education.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Police clearance and vulnerable sector check (completed within the last 6 months).
• Current Standard First Aid and Child CPR certification.
