Job summary

BC First Nations Justice Council (BCFNJC) is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to provide strategic leadership, serving as senior ambassador and advocate for Indigenous governance and self-determination in BC's justice system. You will cultivate relationships with First Nations communities, funders, and governments while guiding organizational change in alignment with Indigenous laws and protocols.

The role is primarily in-person, based in Kelowna, BC, with a competitive salary and comprehensive

Qualifications

• Senior executive leadership experience in a complex, multi-site organization.
• Knowledge of BC First Nations governance and Indigenous laws/protocols.
• Experience reporting to Indigenous-led governance boards or Councils preferred.
• Ability to guide organization through change with integrity and trauma-informed leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short- and long-term strategic plans.
• Report to the Justice Council on status and objectives.
• Provide direction and support for direct reports in a culturally safe, healing-centered manner.
• Build and sustain relationships with funders, partners and governments.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
