Colonial Group is seeking a part-time Professor for Game Design and Development at the College Drive Campus in North Bay, ON. The role focuses on in-class delivery and online components, with a 14-week contract from January 11, 2027 to April 23, 2027.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree related to game design and development, hands-on Unreal Engine experience, and post-secondary teaching credentials or demonstrated capability. Expect weekly 4 hours on Tuesdays, 3:30 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS, software engineering, game design or related field.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine and in a gaming studio.
  • Post-secondary teaching experience with knowledge of learning theories and methods.
  • Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting.
  • Familiar with learning management systems and remote delivery technologies.
  • Teaching experience is an asset.
  • Must commute to College Drive Campus in North Bay, ON.

Job Title: Professors (Part-Time) - Game Design and Development

Department: Centre of Computing and Information Technology

Location: College Drive Campus – North Bay, ON

Contract Duration: January 11, 2027 – April 23, 2027 (14 weeks excluding Reading Week)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Design and Development, Computer Programming or equivalent in/or related field to the course outlined
  • Experienced in Unreal Engine and in a gaming studio
  • Previous post-secondary teaching experience informed by excellence with various learning
  • theories and methods
  • Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a post-secondary setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in learning management systems as well as the
  • use of remote delivery and educational technologies
  • Previous teaching experience is an asset
  • In-class delivery, must be able to reliably commute to the College Drive Campus in North Bay, ON required

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate effective learning related to:
    • GDD401 – Development for Scalability

4 hours/week

Tuesdays: 3:30 p.m. – 7:20 p.m.

  • Work closely with students and colleagues to provide an optimal learning environment
  • Perform all responsibilities associated with the learning environment including preparation, delivery, and evaluation of theory and practical learning activities
