Job Description:
As Maintenance Supervisor, you will assist the Maintenance Manager in attending to maintenance concerns that are generated by housekeeping, Owner Relations, and the front desks. The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to resolve all maintenance requests in a professional manner, being courteous to guests that they encounter, and to represent Big White Central Reservations at the highest level.
This position is suitable for someone with a previous building maintenance background, general handyman skills, good painting skills, a tradesman, or someone with experience in construction or building management.
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:
- Painting and repairs of rental accommodation during off-season operations
- Supervision of seasonal staff when the Maintenance Manager is not on duty
- Attending to maintenance requests, including but not limited to: locating and repairing plumbing leaks, sinks, toilets, showers, troubleshooting minor electrical problems, repairing damage to units and units' contents, patching and painting, and general maintenance
- Assist the Maintenance Manager with supervision of contractors when required
- Ensuring company vehicles are driven in a responsible manner, and are maintained and serviced when required
- Supervising and leading all maintenance processes and operations
- Creating and implementing maintenance procedures where required
- Conducting regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems
- Actively participating in department-specific initiatives, working towards sustainable operations
- Working cooperatively as an active member of the Maintenance team towards ensuring safe work practices are adhered to at all times
- Complying with all established department and company policies, procedures, and code of ethics
- Performing other tasks as assigned by management
- Upholding the highest standard of internal and external customer service levels at all times
- Any other direction given by a Central Reservations Manager
Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a maintenance role
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Knowledge of general building systems and equipment
- Experience with carpentry, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
- Strong painting experience and skills
- Trade certification in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical would be an asset
- Experience in appliance repair would be an asset
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
- Excellent organization and time management
- Proven self-motivation, ability to work well with minimal supervision
- Must have a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to work well within a diverse team environment
- Must be able to embrace the organization’s core values
- Good personal grooming

Job Specifications:
- Full-time - working up to 40 hours per week
- Start date early/mid-June
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must have a valid BC Driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Starting Wage $27.00
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry furniture and/or appliances for small periods of time
- Must be able to kneel, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill maintenance tasks
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity
