Job summary

Qualifications

• Certified Exposure Device Operator Certification (CEDO) or Exposure Device Operator (EDO) is required.
• Current safety certifications like Confined Space, H2S Alive, First Aid are an asset.
• Capable of making knowledgeable, integrity-based decisions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position radiographic exposure devices for inspections.
• Calibrate equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed.
• Perform radiographic examinations to detect internal flaws.
• Monitor safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Position Summary

BakosNDT is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwood Service Corporation and is a growing and leading provider of non‑destructive testing services in Western Canada, with services offered to all industrial sectors. We are currently seeking a CEDO Technician or NDT Trainee to join and contribute to our inspection team. This full‑time position will report into the Division Manager and support Edmonton, AB operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position radiographic exposure devices and sources, such as gamma or X‑ray equipment, to conduct inspections.
• Calibrating the equipment, securing the area, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed to protect themselves and others from radiation exposure.
• Perform radiographic examinations on materials, welds, or components to detect internal flaws, such as cracks, voids, or other irregularities.
• Implement and monitor strict safety procedures to minimize radiation exposure to themselves and others.
• Ensure that all activities comply with regulatory requirements and safety standards.

Requirements

• Certified Exposure Device Operator Certification (CEDO) or Exposure Device Operator (EDO)
• Familiarization of NDE methods (Conventional and Advanced)
• Current safety certifications (e.g., Confined Space, H2S Alive, First Aid) are an asset
• Capable of making knowledgeable, integrity‑based decisions
• Strong communication skills with client and maintenance personnel
• Ability to travel
• Valid Driver's Licence
