The objective of this position is to exceed the customer’s expectation of service by assuring the safe transportation and delivery of food to customer locations, following company policies and procedures. Responsibilities include shipment of temperature-controlled and undamaged products, proper count of goods at customer locations, ensuring inventory levels are FIFO, and management of Helper.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25/50/80 pounds regularly
  • Respond quickly to sounds
  • Move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces
  • See and respond to dangerous situations
  • See well at night and drive in the dark

Minimum requirements include being 21 years of age, having at least 2 years of CDL driving experience, reliable transportation, and the ability to work overnight and on weekends. Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

Accountabilities:

  • Drive vehicles to designated destinations for customer product deliveries
  • Drive safely and within deadlines
  • Load and unload products from trucks or trailers
  • Place products according to customer specifications
  • Follow local and state driving laws and regulations
  • Maintain vehicle and equipment cleanliness and safety
  • Maintain driving logs and complete daily paperwork
  • Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Ensure all tasks are performed according to company policies
  • Maintain required paperwork and documentation
  • Subject to various audits and inspections
  • Follow scheduled routes and use maps or GPS for navigation
  • Organize inventory in the vehicle and unload products as needed
  • Ensure delivered inventory matches manifest and labels
  • Confirm deliveries with signatures or confirmation methods
  • Keep all delivery paperwork organized and submit at shift end
  • Refuel vehicle as needed
  • Perform pre and post-trip inspections
  • Report accidents or vehicle issues
  • Follow safety requirements for loading and unloading
  • Scan routes and communicate issues with supervisors
  • Coordinate pickups and communicate with supervisors
  • Use the "BE A PRO" approach with each delivery daily
