Job description

We are seeking a Communicative Disorders Assistant to join our Sudbury HearCANADA team, providing support at the Pine Street clinic location. This role is a full-time, permanent opportunity with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

As a Communicative Disorders Assistant with HearCANADA, you will be passionate about the hearing healthcare of our clients. Your responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, assisting with troubleshooting and product maintenance, recognizing and capitalizing on sales opportunities through various mediums, and acting as a HearCANADA brand ambassador within the clinics.

What you will do:

  • Support customers with basic product maintenance, care, and demonstrate/troubleshoot product features and benefits
  • Discuss communicative strategies with clients
  • Communicate with customers via telephone for appointment follow-ups or rescheduling
  • Leverage knowledge of hearing aid technology and assistive listening devices to make meaningful recommendations supporting hearing health

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma in Communicative Disorders Assistant from a recognized post-secondary institution or a Hearing Instrument Dispenser designation from the provincial governing body
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or extensive clinic experience with hearing aids (cleaning and checks) and customer interactions
  • Ability to articulate specifications of hearing aid technology and assistive listening devices to diverse clients
  • Superior customer service skills (in-person, phone, written) to build strong relationships
  • Ability to identify and maximize sales opportunities (walk-ins, referrals, inquiries, retention)
  • Positive contribution to the company culture and representation of our values in client interactions and community events
  • Access to a vehicle and a valid driver’s license (strongly preferred)
